Metaplanet Inc. Expands Bitcoin Holdings with Strategic Additional Purchase

Metaplanet Inc., listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE Standard: 3350), has announced the acquisition of an additional 555 Bitcoins as part of its expanding Bitcoin Treasury Operations. The latest purchase totaled approximately $53.6 million, made at an average price of $96,530 per Bitcoin. With this acquisition, Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings have reached 5,555 BTC, accumulated at an average price of approximately $90,220 per Bitcoin, representing a total investment of around $630.5 million to date. To measure the performance of its Bitcoin strategy, Metaplanet tracks the following metrics: BTC Yield: The percentage increase in total Bitcoin holdings relative to fully diluted outstanding shares. BTC Gain: The theoretical growth in Bitcoin holdings assuming no dilution. BTC $ Gain: BTC Gain translated into dollars at the prevailing Bitcoin market rate, providing a clear view of financial performance. Reported BTC Yield over recent periods: Q3 2024: 41.7% Q4 2024: 309.8% Q1 2025: 95.6%Quarter-to-date (April 1 to May 7, 2025): 21.0% This continued investment reaffirms Metaplanet’s strong strategic belief in Bitcoin as a long-term store of value and hedge against inflation — a philosophy increasingly adopted by forward-looking companies integrating digital assets into their treasury strategies.
