Tether invested $7.5 million in Utexo to promote USDT settlement on the Bitcoin network

Stablecoin issuer usdt-257">Tether announced a joint lead investment in the $7.5 million financing round for the startup Utexo. Other investors in this round include Big Brain Holdings, Portal Ventures, and Franklin Templeton.
Utexo is developing infrastructure to enable USDT to settle directly on the btc-42">Bitcoin network and support payments via the Lightning Network. This solution offers pre-confirmable fixed fees and completes transactions using atomic and privacy settlement mechanisms, leveraging the security of the Bitcoin network. Paolo Ardoino stated that achieving native USDT settlement on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network will further strengthen Bitcoin's role as a global dollar settlement network. Currently, the supply of USDT is approximately $184 billion, making it the largest dollar stablecoin by market cap.
