Crypto supporters' response was encouraging, including Jack Dorsey, who replied with a resounding "yes." Since then, the chain has dropped a series of crypto-themed marketing teasers and even combined the launches with Tesla promotions. This integrated launch is a unique full-feature Bitcoin acceptance and integration with a fast food chain. Steak 'n Shake is a classic American fast food chain known for its hand-dipped milkshakes and steakburgers. Founded in 1934, it operates hundreds of locations across the U.S., blending diner-style service with quick-serve meals. The brand is recognized for its affordable pricing and nostalgic atmosphere. While some restaurant brands have engaged in partnerships with limited pilots or a third-party crypto payment platform, few, if any, have fully committed to the blockchain space at this scale. Crypto payments are slowly exceeding among corporations. Steak 'n Shake's efforts may be the most imposing yet as they continue to bring Bitcoin to the fast food sector, however, it is not the first. For example, Chipotle has accepted a number of digital assets since 2022. Subway has been trialing Bitcoin payments in a select number of its locations for a while now, while KFC, McDonald's, and Burger King have run promotions or offered regional support for Bitcoin.
